Who can apply?
- The community foundation can make grants to the following entities:
- 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
- Education
- Government
- Religious
- Individuals or organizations that do NOT fall into one of the above entities are encouraged to partner with a fiscal agent in one of those categories.
- If that is not possible, please contact the community foundation to see if your project still qualifies and if there are any additional reporting requirements
- Grants are typically restricted to the geographic areas served by the community foundation
Funding for Nonprofits
We offer 4 grant applications based on your organization’s funding need.
Relationship Based Philanthropy
- Requests up to $10,000 will be considered
- RBP (Relationship Based Philanthropy) is an approach to grantmaking based on collaboration, communication, and transparency between the grants committee and the nonprofit organization

Fall LOI

Responsive Grants
- Requests up to $2,500
- Funding for nonprofits to strengthen core programs, meet immediate needs and take the next step toward long term impact

Women Helping Women
- Requests up to $1,000 will be considered
- Funding must be requested through a partner agency
- WHW is a fund that supports women and their families who are struggling or may be in crisis

Community Funds
Assaria Communtiy Fund:
- Charitable projects that improve the quality of life for citizens of Assaria, KS
Gypsum Valley Community Fund:
- Charitable projects that improve the quality of life for the citizens of Gypsum, KS
Southeastern Saline County Foundation Fund:
- Support local charitable community needs of Kipp, Mentor, Assaria, Gypsum and Bridgeport
- Charitable projects that improve the quality of life for the Southeastern Saline County area.
Funding for Individuals
Grant opportunities for individuals are detailed in the below 3 categories.
Youth Baseball
- For individual players in a local Saline County league and who might otherwise not be able to participate in baseball due to limited financial resources.
- Grants may support, but are not limited to, registration fees, tournament fees, uniforms, equipment & clinics.
Grant Funds

Four cycles per year:
- February 15
- March 15
- April 15
- May 15
Youth Softball
- For individual players in a local Saline County league or for a Saline County High School and who might otherwise not be able to participate in softball due to limited financial resources.
- Grants may support, but are not limited to, registration fees, uniforms & equipment.
Grant Funds
Application Deadlines
Four cycles per year:
- February 15
- March 15
- April 15
- May 15
Medical
- Fund to assist individuals and families with expenses related to the treatment of leukemia, lymphoma, bone marrow transplant and/or stem cell transplant
- Must live within a 25 mile radius of Salina County
